Wedding day Beauty tips!

Appoint one of your bridesmaids as your personal, on the day makeup artist! It's always a good idea to have someone in charge of keeping hold of your face powder and lipstick/lipgloss. Who better than a bridesmaid to ensure you are shine free and still wearing your bespoke lip colour for photographs?

Invest in a good waterproof mascara. If you love thick, volumised lashes - makeup artists use disposable mascara wands for hygiene reasons. These are not the best at giving a full lash - rather a coating of mascara.
Providing your own mascara means your makeup artist can use it directly on you.

If you are going to fake tan before your Wedding day - ensure you know how to apply, or get a professional service. A poorly applied tan will look patchy in photographs and will also cause the foundation to look patchy. If you are unsure - don't!

Regular facials are great leading upto the Wedding day. They will balance the skin and help give a better all around appearance to radiance, tone and texture. From experience, don't try a facial a week before the big day, and especially not the night before! Facials and masks extract toxins which can lead to spots for upto a week after.

Try and have your bridal hair done before your makeup. Heated appliances such as straightning irons or curling tongs can melt/disturb makeup - seperating it leaving it patchy and shiny. Also styling produts that are sprayed can leave a 'shiny' film on the face that can lead to a shiny looking face in photographs.

Ruth Elizabeth provides each of her brides with a small, makeup touch up kit on their wedding day.
This includes face blotting papers, and small pot of the brides bespoke lipstick/gloss with lip applicators.
